1983 Volkswagen MK1 Golf 1.8 20v turbo
This car is still part of my collection today. It’s a 1983 VW MK1 Golf. Originally a 1.3 litre with about 50 bhp. Last summer I swapped it for a 1.8 20v turbo engine from a MK4 Golf GTI. Together with a front mount intercooler, full 3 inch stainless steel exhaust system and an modified intake, it should be making about 170 bhp now. Next step is a remap, taking it well over 200… Should be fun!

I’ve thought about swapping the same engine into my polo. It has been suggested by many forums. I just need the money, I’m 19 and still a student. One day it might happen

Awesome! Heb heel lang naar een golf 1 gekeken, maar ben uiteindelijk toch voor een mx5 mk1 gegaan. (zie mijn pagina). Als dit blokje, wat inmiddels 2,5 ton heeft gelopen, opraakt, ga ik er ook iets bijzonders mee doen. Uit welke regio kom je?
