Because everyone keeps asking “Why won’t you buy a McLaren” I think the best way to answer that question is by explaining my really dumb ideas! Enjoy!

I don’t have the money but if I did I would agree with you. Mclaren did their greats with the F1 and the P1 is alright but I would say it’s just too ugly no matter how much I want to love it. In about 3-5 years Mclaren will have their cars soughted and will be back on track to making some of the best cars in the world.

Reason #1 - Because I care about selling it before I care about owning it.
Reason #2 - Because there’s going to be a new model next year and mine won’t be “the newest”
Reason #3 - Because unlike Ferrari, when it breaks down, it doesn’t burn to the ground
Reason #4 - Because non car guys might confuse his car with a P1
Reason #5 - Only valid reason, in my opinion.

Complains about McLaren depreciation…completely ignores Ferrari reliability…

You Sir, right here made the most accurate comment about the topic. McLaren doesn’t need this guy to buy his cars, as far as I know they sell shitloads of cars so they are good.
If you are a McLaren enthusiast then you really wouldn’t care about depreciation. Rowan Atkinson owned his McLaren fifteen or more years. And he used it too. When he sold it, he got more money out of it than what he spent on it.
It’s sad to hear that P1 has some battery issues but these cars are so complex that even with that pricetag you know it’s not bulletproof and somethings going to happen.
The MP4 12C is still the favourite of the new McLarens if you ask me. The front end looks better than the rest.

This reminds me of apple products. Except #4.

I’ll further explain:
Reason #1 - Because I care about selling it before I care about owning it.
mmmm nope, if you take a second to look at my stuff I don’t sell my cars when they come if I like them. If I don’t, I just pass on them.

This is very short sided. The fact that there is a new model by them every year won’t allow McLaren to solidify a that car’s spot in the marketplace. You probably don’t buy a lot of cars a year (not an insult), but if you do, you’ll care about losing 30% a year of around a million dollars unless you’re incredibly wealthy.

I am not a Ferrari fan… this point doesn’t make sense, but the reality is that my friends that own these cars have been trying to lemon them because they can’t get them fixed properly.

I get it. They’re new, they aren’t holding their value and they have no prestige. Women won’t know what it is and it might break down. Still don’t care. MacLaren for the win.
