Why is it a swap ? Didnt the IS300 come with a 1JZ or 2JZ as a standard engine ?
It did come with it but I think they are harder to find as compared to the 2 litre versions.
Yes, but the term 1JZ or 2JZ doesn’t mean anything. The IS300 only came with the 2JZ-GE. The engine everyone hypes and bounces about is the 2JZ-GTE. That is the turbo one. the -GE is NA and only makes about 210-230hp (214 according to the dutch government). Yes, you can buy an IS300 and do a conversion with GTE parts, but at that stage it’s faster to just drop the GTE in there. barely any loom changes, will bolt straight up to what’s there and if it has an auto slushbox(Which many 300’s have), it’s easy to swap that out for a manual one.
The is300 cane with the 2jz-ge, he swapped it with a 2jz-gte from the aristo.
