7 Reasons Not To Buy The 2016 Subaru WRX STI

It’s obvious that I love this car, I’ve owned a 2014 STI for 2 years now, but the vehicle does have its drawbacks. Here’s seven reasons you might want to put your money elsewhere.

Why would you buy an STi? Just hook up with someone from craigslist and get one for free..

Why buy the STI when you can buy the WRX with a much better engine.

One note I will make:
Subaru for as long as I remember has run 7.1:1 instead of 8.25:1 compression in the STI.
Although this makes the engine more rigid to wide open high boost abuse, it does terrible things to fuel economy and response. They also run a ritcher air/fuel map on the stock ecu tune for the same reasons.
I’m not sure exactly what the deal is with the new 2015+ generations, but I strongly doubt they would drop an EJ in the new sti. The FA series is a highly improved NEW engine with vast improvements all around from balancing to oil delivery

23MPG on the highway is embarrassing. I have a 2007 Corvette 6.0 liter with a Procharger and average about 19 city and about 26 highway. I have a 6 speed manual and like to have a little fun.
