Advice for hill starts in a manual?

So today I stopped on a steep hill. When I had to start moving, I revved the car to 1500 rpm’s, and slowly let off the clutch. I stalled. Do I need to rev the motor to a higher rpm to not stall?

If you’re a beginner, dont be ashamed of using high revs.

the way i do it is to rev it normally with your thumb on the handbrake button and slowly let the handbrake down while giving more gas and letting the clutch out. Works every time. Don’t forget to listen to your engine and what your car is telling you.

okay well just rev it up to 2500 3000 rpm SLOWLY release the clutch, you didn’t stall because you didn’t rev it higher I think you released the clutch to quickly because if you didn’t rev it enough the car would have rolled backwards :P just practice
I mean I don’t look at the rpm when I start driving up hill I can just hear it engine

This is the technique Car Throttle gave me when I asked the same question you asking when I asked for advice

Pull the handbrake up
Slowly start lifting the clutch pedal until the revs start dropping and it starts pulling
Bring up the revs (I normally bring it up to around 1500 depending on the steepness of the hill)
Let the handbrake down and start feeding in more petrol while lifting your foot off the clutch

I hope this does help. It is a lot of steps to take and it does take a while but after a while you get used to it and you can do it a lot faster and more efficiently so I would also recommend practicing in a area where there won’t be a lot of cars
