It’s a bit of both and also german … Basically, the company was founded by an Italian (Ettore Bugatti), but all the cars until recently were built in France. The headquarters were in France, and now it’s owned by VW …

Is the Mona Lisa French, bacause it’s in the Louvre, Paris? Does Leonardo Da Vinci ring a bell?

It’s a French company. A Google search could have given you an answer in 0.3 seconds.

No it’s not. Bugatti was Italian. He designed the car in Italy but moved to France, taking his name with hum.. Hadrian’s wall is in Britain but of Roman origin because they built it. If the French think Bugatti is originally French, then they should give it French name. It’s the Italian name that sells the car/ Name a supercar with a French name?

Bugatti is Italian, because its founder was Italian. It may not be an italian company anymore, but it was an Italian brain that created it. Leonardo Da Vinci’s MONALISA is in the Louvre, Paris, but is it French? Of course not. It will be forever Italian. Range Rover is owned by Germany, but the British will always consider it their own, because it was originally created here. That’s my point.

Ettore Bugatti, from Milan, originally set up the company, but later emigrated to France(Alsace Lorraine region) and became naturalised French and so set up conpany there. It doesn’t matter where you eventually end up living, it’s your roots that define who you really are. I live in the UK and was born here, but mu blood and roots will forever be Italian, of which I’m very proud. People pay for the name Bugatti, with the finesse, styling and power associated with Italian supercar marques.
