Cstegg Tips #2: To save money on oil changes order 55 gallon drums of your oil type. An oil change will cost a third of what it would if you bought in a small quantity.

There are so many different quantities you can buy in guys.

I buy in 55 gallon drums for my truck since an oil change takes 15 quarts but for a 4qt vehicle this would last you 165,000 miles(if you don’t burn oil and change after 3,000miles)

You can save a lot in buying boxes of oil online(pic related)

Money saved on oil… is money for car parts!

You can buy just about anything in bulk… such as filters

Well now… considering my engine houses full 11 liters of the stuff. How much for a 200 liter barrel of Mobil 5w40?

I found it here in the US in 55 gallon barrels(220liter) for as low as 800USD(755 EURO) to as high as 1,500USD(1410 EURO) (Royal Purple(really good oil))

I have a truck that takes 14 liters and I save a lot of money by doing this.

It seems expensive to buy a big drum but it pays off since you have to pay that much eventually and by buying in small amounts you are just paying more.

It’s cool until you realize the oil will be in there like 20 years haha

The oil was under ground for millions of years to become oil though ;)

It’s like a fine wine that gets better with age… just like me haha

As long as you keep it out of the sun it will be fine.

But for my truck I take 15quarts(18 if I pump it out from the injector reservoir)

220quarts(55 gallons) divided by 18 = 12 oil changes
