This pic pretty much explains it. The 200sx hatch (sold as a 240sx in the states and 180sx) is based on the S13 platform. Took me sometime to understand it aswell ;)

To my knowledge, the S13 was powered by a 2.4 naturally aspirated engine known as KA24DE (240SX) and 1.8 Turbo known as CA18DET (180SX in Japan and 200SX in Europe). The S14 came as a 240SX with a 2.4 engine, which I think was twincam, not too many in Europe. The S14 200SX also had the famous SR20DET, a 2.0 Turbo. The SR20DET came in two versions - black top in S14 Zenki and Kouki and red top in the newer S15. Hope I got my facts right.

In Australia, the S14 is the Japanese import of the car. But the 200x is the Australian delivered version of the s15 silvia.
