Even though now they’re becoming popular , 3 cyl engines have been around for a while , i believe Audi even made a 1.3l I3 Diesel.

Suzuki made a 543cc 3-cyl enigne back in 1983 for the Suzuki Mighty Boy “ute”. My parents own one and its top speed is an engjne shattering 60mph at god knows how many RPM.

From first hand, Z10XE does not “run”. It tries to stay alive.
this Ecotec must be biggest crap GM made to us.
Edit: smaller engine does not necesary mean lower consumption. 1.0 58hp in 1.1tonne car does not mean it’ll drink same amount as 1.6 turbodiesel 1.6tonne Ford CMax

I was eagerly awaiting this video since we have a 3-cyl turbo Dacia in the family!
Its a very odd driving experience, it will jerk and bog at “low” rpms like no other car I’ve ever driven. In my 4-cyl Yaris, to maximise fuel economy, I can go into 4th at 20mph and it won’t bog down, into 5th by 28mph and it will easily get 50+mpg in town. Getting into the Dacia, I have to recalibrate my shifts to be much later or the shift down light comes on and the engine starts labouring. Also, it only manages 37mpg.

The Suzuki Alto imported to the UK in 1981 had a 796cc 3 cylinder engine and was also available with an automatic gearbox.
