Improving performance on a 1.3 Suzuki Swift
As I sadly am not in a position for a new car at the moment or any time soon, I’d really like to try and improve the performance of my 1.3 2006 suzuki swift. I’ve already removed the back seats and fitted a performance exhaust and lowering springs, as well as a high spec air filter and high octane fuel, but is there anything else I can do for less than say £500 that will make a difference to acceleration?

high-octane fuel will not change the way your car performs unless the higher octane blend has different amounts of detergents etc in it. It might save you money to stick with the octane your engine is rated for, seeing as it is mostly stock :)
five hundred pounds won’t get you much! Try messing around with the top-end like you have already been doing. A larger throttle body might be the next step. If that doesn’t make a big difference (which it probably won’t), a free modification you can do to your engine is porting and polishing the head. You MUST know what you’re doing, and do a very clean job. It will help your engine breathe better at high speed.
Nope :)
Maybe a 1.6 engine? Should fit.. dont know how much it costs though…
Chip tune?
I will go with some brakes , suspension and this kind of stuff , so as to take better and more agresive turns !!
I would go for:
CAI
Porting and shaving the head
Installing cams
Handling wise, i would start with tires
Remap?
