It’s caused by straight-cut gear “teeth,” not specifically just sequential gearboxes.
But, most sequential gearboxes are straight-cut, so you’re almost right. :)

Also I really really really don’t understand race car drivers and their windshield wipers. Have they never heard of polishing their glass, or using rain-x? It works so much better than windshield wipers.
The orange lexus really pissed me of it almost caused like five accidents at least the Porsche knew to move aside but this guy was a total a-hole
