Video to expand on this: why inertia adds to the problem of tire load sensitivity.

You can’t really claim that it’s entirely because of tire load sensitivity that lighter cars are better…

You should also add that inertia means that there’s more force to be overcome when turning or braking, and more resistance to acceleration when accelerating.

If you have two Honda Fit 1.5L cars with formula one tires, the car can’t possibly spin the front tires and lose traction. If one car is heavier (1000 lbs. for example) the engine still has the same power and both cars aren’t exceeding the limit of adhesion, the heavy car still accelerates slower, turns slower and brakes slower… inertia is a key principle to discuss that most people don’t understand.
