What exactly is a fart can? Does adding any sort of exhaust to a honda make it a fart can? Serious question as i am looking forward to install a free flow but dont want to sound like a ricer.
Yeah. I don’t know either. my car is straight piped all the way back except for a muffler and it is loud. I think that the muffler might be a cheap one, or it isn’t doing a thing. I have no idea if that would be considered a fart cannon or not…
Unfortunately, I think anytime you add a free flow exhaust to an Honda it becomes a fart can. It probably depends on the engine’s original sound, layout, and firing order. That’s why a free flow exhaust won’t sound like a fart can on a Subaru or a Skyline…
It must also depend a lot on which exhaust you buy, a cheap one will probably sound really bad, while a japanese brand might have engineered it on 4cyl so it may sound better. My recommendation is to make some other mods to your car to match the increase in sound volume :D
You can also try to change the sound by cutting out the thing after the exhaust manifold (I don’t know how it’s called), but I’m not sure at all about what will happen next. Before buying the free flow exhaust, remove the muffler and try it like that
