350HP, 400 N.M of Torque would be ideal in a 1.5 Ton car.
Depends on weight. My mom’s youkon has a nice comfy 395BHP, and yet feels slightly sluggish past 1st gear. In something of it’s size, I’d say around 450-500hp. in something like my Celica, I wouldn’t want much over 250HP. My FZ1 has 129HP, and that feels like too much for a daily.
350 is just about perfect to me.

Cars like the Hellcat give you choices between hp so that is pretty cool.
But it isnt fun in the twisties due to it being a boat and has terrible mileage, making it a terrible daily driver…..
I used to drive 30 minutes per day through the countryside to go to work, so for me, a daily driver had to be reliable, economic (a bit) and above all, light and fun to drive (to stay awake). My best daily drive would be either a Peugeot 106 s16 (120hp) or a first gen Lotus Elise 111s (143hp).
180hp would be enough for the fun bit of driving with a light hot hatch, like 1000kg, something in the lines of Peugeot 206 gti 180 or renault clio 182, those would be the best examples. Obvioulsy if it could be lighter, like the 205 gti, i would go for like 140-150 bhp, because that would be more than enough for such a low weight.
500hp
Around 600 with just a bit more torque at around 600-650 paired with AWD it would be perfect.
