The DeLorean DMC-12 had a difficult start and a difficult life. The guy who wanted to build this car was John DeLorean and he had the plan to build an ethical car, which means a car which was safe, long-lasting and sustainable. He was a manager from GM and had the opinion that small, high-quality cars with efficient engines were the future. The problem was: The rest of the GM staff had a different opinion and later, in 1973, after some arguments with the staff, he decided to quit the job and to make his own sports car, which was proved to be difficult.

In 1982, BF Goodrich ran a Porsche 924 with road based T/A Radial tires to a class victory at Le Mans, and with a bigger budget and a thirst for better publicity for the tires they decided to move up to the C2 class for 1984. The team called Lola and asked them to build a chassis, and they delivered. Lola chose their already established T600 as the basis for this new car, which would be designed around a very unique engine. Following the class victory of Mazda in C2 the previous year with the 717C, BF Goodrich made an agreement with Mazda to run their wankel rotary engines.

After the failures of Mazda’s previous two rally cars, a front wheel drive Group A 323 and a rear wheel drive Group B RX-7, Mazda hit a turning point. They needed to prove themselves in rally racing to compete with other Japanese manufacturers. Rather than developing a completely new Group B monster they chose to move back down to Group A and take the trusty 323 to a new level. They produced a new homologation special for the road that would allow them to take on Group A. They fitted the 323 with a new all wheel drive system and turbocharged the 1.6L 4 cylinder.

Colin McRae was a rally superhero through the 90s and early 2000s and being the first British World Rally Champion his fan base was absolutely massive. Colin took the world by storm with his can do attitude and overly aggressive driving style; this is what made him a sensation to watch. As a motorsports fan and Professional Rider, I can honestly say that he moulded my childhood and made me try as hard as I could to achieve the goals i wanted.

Oh the Smart Roadster. A little two-seater that is not really known in the car community since it’s overshadowed by the other two-seater roadster, the famous Mazda MX-5… But why do I like it more than the Miata and why should you?

At E3 2012, one of the most exciting racing games of the decade was announced. Forza Horizon. Coming from the background of a racer that loved Forza Motorsport more than any other racing game but always loved open world racers, this was without a doubt a hugely exciting moment. My order for the game placed the next day, I waited and watched the forums every single day without fail waiting patiently until I could play the game. The demo came out, then the game. And it didn’t disappoint.

Suzuki isn’t the first manufacture you think of when some one says “fun”. Yes, there are the few outliers like the Swift Sport, but in general, they are just another cheap Japanese family car. However, there is a little hidden gem. This happens to be the quite plain Suzuki Kizashi. Why the Kizashi? What is it? Well let me enlighten you.

Now, the other two games I’ve reviewed in the past, NASCAR ‘15 and Burnout Paradise, were in some way a major part of my childhood. NFS never was. Despite being Burnout’s law-breaking brother, Need For Speed never piqued my interest until earlier this year, when I randomly found my copy of NFSMW. When I did, I posted a picture of it to CT and asked if anyone wanted to see a review, and the answers I got were overwhelmingly positive. So here I am, about to give you my thoughts and opinions on the most Burnout-ish Need For Speed game yet.

One of my favorite concept car design that I have made 2 years ago. I always dreamed about making my favorite all-time fighter/ interceptor/ long-range fighter- bomber from the 60’s, the iconic McDonnell Douglas F4- Phantom II, into a track day machine that equaled to the package of an F1 car.

Most of you probably remember when in the 2nd episode of the new Top Gear season, Chris Harris pointed out some car related mistakes in movies. Although it was made for laughs, I couldn’t agree more with him. Sure, nowadays it’s extremely hard to find a film with no goofs, but some of these minor mistakes could have been avoided, if a movie director had hired someone who knows something about cars. That’s why I decided to make this list of 4 annoying mistakes in a big budget Hollywood movies. So now, let’s get ready for some serious nitpicking!

Here’s an age-old question. “One day, you got a 10 million dollars from someone. That guy said use this cash to buy a car of your choice. What car did you buy?” You can buy any car. Yes. ANY car. Most of the CT be like: “I WILL BUY A (insert overrated JDM car here) AND TUNE IT TO 1000+HP!!!” But as for me, no. Instead of buying a Skyline or a Supra and tune it, when I got that money, I rather immediately rush to the nearest Ferrari or Lamborghini dealer, and buy an Italian V12 supercar. That makes a better deal than buying a JDM car ever if you want to get to 600+ hp.

The 1970’s. What do we remember most? Smokey and the Bandit? Hotel California? Athena Tennis Girl? Sure,I like that movie. I like that song. I most definitely adorn that picture, but there’s one thing I absolutely love about the 1970’s,and that would be the cars. We always talk about the muscle cars and Japanese sports cars, but not the Europeans as much, which is a shame. So,sit back and get groovy to some of these European sports cars from the 1970’s. Number five: Lamborghini Espada.

Concepts. Unrealistic, wild, and they usually set a preview for the future of a car brand. They are usually a set of wavy, angular lines with usually an unrealistic amount of technology. Concepts could be a preview of a future product which will be produced, or it gives a preview of the brand’s future design. Unfortunately, most concepts are rarely produced, due to impossible designs to be mass-produced, lack of technology for the body panels and sometimes it gets produced, but looks very different from the concept model.

Believe it or not, there used to be a time back in the 20th century that Alfa Romeo used to make great cars. Especially in the 1960s, Alfa Romeo, at its peak, built cars like the Alfa Romeo Spider, one of the most iconic cars in automotive history. But from then on, it slowly went downhill for the Turin-based car manufacturer. But what were the causes of that? And how the 4C and the Giulia could take Alfa Romeo back to those glorious oldern days, I will explain in this article.

My first time driving my 1999 Mazda MX-5 NB8a at Broadford Road Race Circuit. For those that don’t know, Broadford is a small track located in Victoria, Australia. The Broadford facility comprises of several tracks including road and dirt and are primarily used for motorcycle events. Luckily, the road circuit is also available for various car clubs to host track days.

A short funny story about this blog post : I came up with this idea about busting stereotypes, after getting “roasted” in #triggertheCTzens. [Note : If you are a Porsche Fan Boy, like me, you will surely enjoy this, but please don’t start a discussion about who builds the best cars ! This isn’t the meaning behind the post !!!] Here we go !

I’ll be honest with you: I am disgusted by JDM fanboyism. And, unfortunately for me and you, it is growing. It is growing fast. Fanboys worship and overrate everything made in Nippon. (Japanese for Japan)
