Our Story starts in February, 1987. NASCAR is in Daytona for the 29th Daytona 500. Bill Elliott, in the Red and White Coors Ford Thunderbird went out for his qualifying lap, Elliott and his Melling Racing fielded car had already set the track record for the 2.5 Mile oval 2 years prior, but there had been a redesign of the Thunderbird over the offseason, and Elliott was quick to show it off. Elliott immediately went to the top of the charts, with a new track record. Elliott had gone 210.364mph. The fastest any NASCAR race car had gone in a qualifying session.

There is no doubt that Toyota got the whole sports car thing right : AE86, Supra, celica GT-Four, MR2, the brand is well known for these legendary models that made history. Yet some magnificent cars live in the shadow of these heroes, and here is one amazingly conserved example of a corolla that is not a Hachiroku.

What do you get if you take one of the most extreme rally cars of all time, remove all performance restrictions and mix in a collection of high end parts from Forge Motorsport and a whole host of other tuning firms? The Monster Energy/Forge Motorsport Ford RS200, that’s what.

After the BPR Global GT Series was taken over by the FIA and renamed the FIA GT Championship, many major car manufacturers gained interest in the quickly growing series and entered. This new championship picked up where the BPR Global GT Series left off. The series was composed of two classes: GT1 and GT2. The GT2 cars were primarily privateer teams with a lower budget and some manufacturers, but the real show was found in the ridiculously quick GT1 class.

The World Sportscar Championship, started in 1953, was a global series run for sports car racing. Along with the Formula One World Championship, the World Sportscar Championship was one of the two major world championships for motorsports. This championship lasted a good 39 years before it died off due to the lack of manufacturer interest. Because of the foolish switch from the fire-breathing, turbocharged Group C prototypes everyone loved to a more expensive, Formula One powered prototype formula, teams and manufacturers withdrew rapidly because of increasing costs and decreasing results.

Hello CTzens,I present to you part 2 of the history of the obscure British sportscar manafacturer Marcos. As always enjoy the post! 1976-2000 The evolutionary return In 1976 the rights to Marcos had been in the hands of the aforementioned Rob Waker group for 4 years since the company went into voluntary liquidation. However Jem Marsh,Co-founder of Marcos, bought back the rights to the Marcos name the very same year and immediately set to work on reinventing the sportscar for the new generation…

In late 1982, SMH (makers of the Swatch watches) CEO Nicolas Hayek began developing an idea for a new car using the same type of manufacturing strategies and personalization features used for Swatch watches. He believed that the automotive industry had ignored a sector of potential customers who wanted a small and stylish city car. This idea soon became known as the “Swatchmobile”. Hayek’s private company Hayek Engineering AG began designing the new car for SMH, with seating for two and a hybrid drivetrain. Yep, you read that correctly: a hybrid drivetrain.

So more than a month ago I re-downloaded Real Racing 3 saying it couldn’t be that bad, everyone says it’s a great game. Well I uninstalled it a week later. People ask why don’t you like real racing 3? Well…..it’s everything I hate about a free moblie games. First off why does everyone appreciate the progression? It’s way too slow, 1k-2k CR per race doesn’t get you enough money to progress without grinding. A average of 800k per car makes things extremely difficult to get a decent car. Second, you might as well place a wall where the AI would be and it would be more productive than the AI.

We all have our favorite car YouTubers, I’m not shy to admit it. Evan Shanks, David Patterson (thatdudeinblue) & Alejandro Salomon (Salomondrin) are mine for many different reasons. I won’t get to them now, but what I will get to, is the other end of the spectrum - it’s five car YouTubers/vloggers that really take the piss outta me.

5 wasn’t enough for you guys eh? I’ve seen some comments and suggestions about games I haven’t touched base on, so why not include 5 more here? The list is entirely subjective don’t forget. No hard facts here, just the open mind of a teenager. Also I don’t feel like including publisher names in here this time, too lazy. Disclaimer aside let’s begin.

Okay, before I start let me just throw out some obvious stuff that people are probably going to bring up. Yes, I know the newer games have more cars, bigger maps, more customization, and better graphics. However, that does not make them better games overall in my opinion and here’s why.

If you’re expecting a rant here on why SUV’s suck, then you may be disappointed. It’s easy to criticise something, and automotive writers and internet commenters on the whole are quick to hurl insults at SUV’s in general because they don’t fit their idea of their ideal vehicles. I think that’s lazy. Hate and vitriol is particularly easy when you ignore the big picture.

The Daytona prototype was the main prototype car of the Rolex sports car championship and later the Tudor sportscar championship. The car was mainly used for American endurance racing and the 24 hours of Daytona. The car lasted from 2003-2016 and was replaced by the new DPI European prototype style car.

To be honest, when I first heard of this car I didn’t like it very much. I found the looks a bit funny and unproportioned, the performance figures were nowhere near exiting and it’s a Fiat, so it will break down probably as soon as you leave the dealership’s car park. But after a while, the 124 Spider kept popping up on my screens, people started talking about it and so, I got intrigued. What is this thing that makes the people so excited about it? Did I miss anything particular? Well, I think I might have the answers now…

This super saloon is Kia’s first performance oriented car. When this car was first revealed names like: Lotus Carlton, Renault Safrane Biturbo or VW Pheaton came to my mind. As much as I love this car I can’t stop thinking that it will be very rare to see one at the streets, but that’s not all that bad news and here is why.

Starting in 2014 the LMP1 category was split into two sub classes: LMP1-H and LMP1-L. The LMP1-H class contains the extremely fast hybrid machines we have become familiar with, and the LMP1-L class retained its simple internal combustion to keep costs down. For 2014, 2015, and 2016, there were two solid manufacturers in the class: Rebellion Racing and ByKolles. The former has left for the cheaper LMP2 class this year, where they can purchase a chassis rather than building their own.

Australia. The home of kangaroos and koalas. It’s also home to a 50-year old rivalry, Holden vs Ford. Two of the most Aussie cars ever made (Ford is actually American, I know), which made a rivalry that recently ended in a sadistic way, have made the Aussie muscle name known to Aussies and some people rest of the world. However, the true Aussie high performance cars is associated to two tuners, HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) and the company I’m saying here right now, FPV.

The age old question for car guys seems to be this: Which is better, JDM, Muscle, or Euro? Ignoring the fact that this completely ignores the vivid car culture of Australia, it also shouldn’t be the question we ask at all. If nobody can agree on which is better, the question has no real answer, and if the question has no answer we shouldn’t be asking it at all. While the culture surrounding each country’s types of cars may be different, all car guys really have the same goals in mind: enjoying cars.

Since I got a request on how to install AUX into a 96 mustang, here it goes. Even though it might looks complicated, I can assure you that it is not. I do not have much experience in wiring and I managed it pretty easily, although it does require som basic wiring and soldering skills. The radio I have is the F6ZF-19B165-CA. You can find out which radio you have by looking at the side of the radio. That being said, this should work for every radio with a separate cd player, just that the wires might not be the same color and in the same place.

Back in the 1970’s, it was an interesting time for Formula One. It was at the time the sport was starting to grow at a rapid rate. With that comes more exposure, which means more teams trying to make it big in Formula One. Although most teams came and fell flat, Embassy Hill was one of a few managed to stay afloat.

So some time back, I made a blog post for Good Bad and Ugly, featuring the Supra A80 under “Bad”. This didn’t exactly sit well with people, especially when I demoted the 2JZ lol BUT, the 2JZ got me thinking, “It’s a good engine. What cool stuff could I do with it?” Then it hit me. Well, not literally. It all became clear. A car build. One that no one would expect in a thousand years. One featuring the uber-popular tuner engine: The Barra engine. LOL just kidding, it’s the 2JZ we’re using.

Built to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary, they unveiled another submodel based on the Aventador, of which only 12 units will be built, 3 as a coupe and 9 as a roadster. Keeping on with the tradition, it is named after a bull, this time “Veneno”, which stands for poison in Spanish, this bull was made famous after wounding to death a torero in 1914, Andalucia, Spain.

Alain Marie Pascal Prost was born on February 24, 1955, Saint Chamond, France. Alain was a busy little boy with lots of energy that more than made up for any problems he might have had in terms of physical height (1.65). He practiced wrestling, roller skating and played football with such intensity that his nose was broken several times. Athletically inclined, he thought about becoming a gym instructor or using his ability at soccer in a professional career. Instead, his passion turned to kart racing after he discovered it at the age of 14 on a family holiday in the south of France.
