Hallo, everybody. It’s been awhile. I just heard about Ray’s death in California. I wanted to tell you a little bit about him. So, he joined us at Porsche Zentrum Stuttgart about 20 days ago. He worked at the press office. What is a press office? It’s the place where journalists get their press cars. I’ve met some top journalists such as Richard Hammond when he and his team were getting the S GO 9181 car, the exact car that he drove around Yas Marina. Or maybe Carlos Lago when he and the MT team got their S GO 9184. Raymond didn’t get the chance to meet some top dog journalists but he did his job well. He was close with me because he didn’t speak German, he only speak Dutch and he wanted to learn German and because he spoke Dutch, he learned quickly. How was he? He was such an entertaining person, full of ideas. He was a bit crazy too. In his M135i, he went drifting on a roundabout. He was addicted to driving on the autobahn. He took my Cayman to A9. All I can remember is him shouting “200!!, 230!!, 6th gear, into 235, Woooooooo!” He had a good time. He was a pretty good driver. He told me that he used to do short track racing (I don’t really know what that is) in a place called Bakersfield (again, I don’t really know) in the 90s with a Camaro IROC. I teached him German, he teached me some racing techniques. He liked to go on trips. I took him to drive the 9184 car and he had a blast. He also said “I am sitting on Carlos Lago’s butt sweat, and I love it”. That got me laughing like crazy. He was a loving person, he was entertaining, and he was full of energy. I will miss him. Goodbye, Raymond. Where you are now, there are no speed limits, drive your Boxster to heaven.

~Your friend,
Jerry
