Today's community question: What things should you never say to a JDM fanboy?
Japan has provided us with over-engineered engines, reliable performance cars and a never-ending list of automotive innovations. So it’s completely understandable that some people, like our very own Darren Cassey, are complete and utter JDM fanboys.
Japan has provided us with over-engineered engines, reliable performance cars and a never-ending list of automotive innovations. So it’s completely understandable that some people, like our very own Darren Cassey, are complete and utter JDM fanboys. The only problem is, they appear to be a pretty sensitive bunch; defensive of all things Japanese (myself included).
So we want to know: what are the worst things to say to a JDM fan? Personally, I hate the keyboard warrior favourite - ‘the Nissan GT-R drives itself’. Those that have actually driven the R35 know that it’s one of the most engaging performance cars on the market.

“I feel sucessfull today, I LS swapped a RX-7”
This is a true fact(Seriously it is). All what JDM means is that a car was sold in Japan, That’s it. It doesn’t meant that the car has superpowers or anything. It just means that it was sold in Japan. So if a Mustang was sold in japan. It would be a JDM.
Do you consider Ferraris and BMWs USDM then?
Like Japanees Domestic Motor/or Market?
Is just a silly hairdresser car…
