Where are the most expensive places to buy used cars?

Many of you were surprised by the video when I said that a 2002 Boxster S costs around £5000 to buy in the UK.

I wonder how insurance prices would compare to the UK though. Since it’s quite expensive in the UK.

America isn’t so bad, but an S13 will set you back about $1,000 to $10,000 while an MX-5 isn’t cheap either.

In Australia

986 Boxster S: about $35,000 for a good one that’s done 40-70,000km

Post 2009 Mazda RX-8: $17,500 on average

Honda Civic Type R EP3: $12-16,000

Mk1 Mazda MX-5: between $4,000 and $13,000. At least $7,500 for one with a roadworthy certificate and relatively low mileage (160,000km). It’s not uncommon for a Mk1 to have covered 200,000km

Honda S2000: about $17,000

E46 BMW 330ci: anywhere between $6,400 and $27,000. Manuals are rare and generally cost more than autos, which is true for most cars in Australia. About 80% of the ones currently listed on Carsales have done more than 100,000km

A good Mk6 Golf GTI is about $16,500

AU$1 = US$0.79 or £0.59

Literally any boxster is a mere $9k to $10k. Muscle cars can be that low. 911’s can be $25k. An old S Class (S63, S55) is like $15k so I’d say California is pretty nice.
