15 Things We All Do Without Even Realising It

1. You always stare at your car's reflection

For some unknown reason, you car always looks extra special when you see it in the reflection of a shop window. Bonus points if you glance at your car’s reflection when in motion!

2. You decide to drive economically, then fail miserably

We all know the feeling when we decide to drive carefully and save some fuel, only to change our minds and floor it after about two minutes!

3. You wonder what Shmee150 does for a living

With new supercars popping up in his garage every month, Tim is living the petrolhead dream. What’s left for us to do, is to figure out what he does for a living and replicate it. Simples.

4. You turn the radio down to see better

Do you turn your radio down before parking or when you get lost? You are not alone!

5. You switch the A/C off for extra power

Unless you drive a sub-150bhp car, chances are it won’t make it any faster. You do it anyway, and so does everyone else.

6. You feel bad for not helping the mechanic you've paid

When you catch the mechanic struggling to unseize that bolt on the subframe, you feel compelled to offer assistance, but quickly remember that you’ve paid him to do the job, so let him get on with it.

7. You drain your monthly data allowance with the Car Throttle Android app

8. You always look back at your car after parking it

As the saying goes, ‘if you don’t look back at your car as you walk away from it, then you bought the wrong car’.

9. You pay close attention to the Top Gear audience (RIP)

Don’t act like you’ve never done this…

10. You repeatedly wobble your shifter to make sure it's in neutral

Come on, just one more wobble. You know, to make sure.

11. You triple check that you locked your car

Did you press the button? Did it click? Sure? You might want to open it and close it again.

12. You feel like a baller driving home from a car wash

This also happens when you install some new parts. You suddenly feel like the whole world is looking at you.

13. You set the wheel and seating position as low as possible

It’s all about that race car seating position.

14. You live life a quarter tank at a time

It doesn’t matter if you do this for weight reduction or because you simply can’t afford a full tank of fuel. We are all guilty of this.

15. You instantly look at the model badge when you see a BMW

Because you need to know whether you’re up against a 318d or a 330i. If there’s no badge, you can instantly identify the model based on the number and shape of the exhasust tips.

Can relate to all of these except for the empty tank part, I fill it up every saturday doesn’t matter how much is still left. Always ready for suprise roadtrips :D actually it’s because it’s just cheaper on saturday and I don’t want to run the risk of paying a higher price, but the first reason sounds much cooler

I also fill my tank about once a week, for many reasons, namely to get the milleage I’ve been doing(I use the Fuelio app) and I don’t like to have less than a quarter, because my car averages around a quart per day (I make around 80KM to college)

Same I always fill up! Otherwise how do you get exactly mpg?

You don’t turn off the radio to “see” better. You do it to focus better by eliminating distractions.

The more you’re focussed, the more detailled (ergo, better) you ‘see’. So by turning off the radio, you see ‘better’.

16: You can walk 10 times around a car checking it out, while non car people would not even know its a special or just a cool car.

…extra points when other people think that you’re admiring some piece of trash

I know, right? I’ve seen Nissan 200sx (sadly automatic), took couple of pictures and 2 girls that walked by seemed to be like: WTF is this man doing. It’s nothing special.
