The 2015 Corvette Z06 Is An Unadulterated Pin-Up Supercar

The hype machine that has been building towards Chevrolet's highly anticipated Z06 reveal has proved leakier than a sinking ship.

Earlier in the week, Chevrolet mistakenly revealed the Z06's power figures in Google's metadata on its official site. To recap, those stats are 620bhp and 650lb/ft of torque - a massive jump from the C5 Z06's 505bhp.

Out of curiosity, a super-sleuthy Jalopnik reader went on the hunt for images, and stumbled upon an unpublished article on LeftLaneNews.com that featured these images. And boy does this thing look impressive.

The exterior is festooned with angular lines and lots of aero touches to ensure it stays grounded. With an expected top speed of 200mph, this is what it takes to keep cosy with the tarmac.

The eagle-eyed among you will notice this car's manual gearbox and indicated 'P' (for 'park') signal in the instrument cluster. We'll have to wait and see if the Z06 get a traditional auto or if this is just related to the paddleshifters attached to the steering wheel.

We know the headline figures suggested this thing would be out of this world, but now we've seen that it has the looks to match we can't wait to see one driven in anger.
