A 210bhp Toyota Yaris Hot Hatch Is Officially Happening
Just before Christmas, Toyota announced it was cooking up something special for 2017: a spicy version of the Yaris. And now we know a little more.
We really mean a little. But of the smattering of details revealed this week, one piece of info is particularly significant: Toyota is saying its new hot hatch will kick out 210bhp. That’s more than the VW Polo GTI and Vauxhall Corsa VXR, a little lower than the Clio RS220 and more than the Ford Fiesta ST. Well, before the Fiesta’s overboost kicks in. Yo.
210bhp in a little Yaris - which according to Toyota will be infused with know-how from its WRC effort - should make for a potent car. We won’t have to wait long to see it either, with the go-faster Yaris receiving its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
At the same time, the whole Yaris range will be updated, with new styling, a nicer interior and a “raft of technical modifications” to give better ride and handling.

I miss the old Awd Celica Gt’s
(Not the last generation riced out fwd)
It was looking so good, until the front. It looks like it drove into a wall and became flat faced.
Really? I’m the opposite. I mean the front doesn’t look that great either, but I hate the rear most of all,
Yaris hot hatch? I abide.
all the horsepower into Toyota FWD, no more power to their RWD line up.
Toyota is promoting FWD perhaps?
Pleeeeeeeeeeaase! Bring to Brazil! In here we don’t have projects like that… So shame! Hahaha
