A 3D Printed, Working LS3 V8 Model Is As Awesome As You'd Expect
If you cast your mind back six or so months ago, you might recall us taking a look at the incredible work of Eric Harrell. His YouTube channel is full of awesome 3D printed models of engines, gearboxes and other car components, all of which function to some degree.
We thought you’d dig his latest creation, because it’s modelled on a GM LS3 V8, and this time he’s revealed how the 3D printed parts went together.
Harrell modelled the parts on various CAD files, pictures, diagrams and repair manuals. He 3D printed every component with the exception of fasteners and bearings.
If you happen to have a 3D printer lying around, you can actually download the parts list and have a crack at this yourself. We don’t, but now kinda wish we had…

If there was a model for the RB26DETT, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
3D printing is the shi t. Imagine after many years, when you won’t be able to find plastic parts for your interrior or exterrior, you will be able to just print them at home. I need to learn to do 3D stuff. This is like super useful. Can’t wait for 3D printers to become as cheap as regular laser printers.
Run it i dare you
