This 600bhp Audi RS3 Eats 10-Second Cars For Breakfast
US-based Volkswagen and Audi tuning specialist, APR, has turned out the German compact saloon equivalent of Popeye after he taps a couple of cans of spinach. To see what the five-cylinder weaponised A3 could do, the firm spannered-in new intake, cooling and fuelling systems along with a sharper ECU.
Obviously it’s not the standard turbo, either. Said to be a TheTurboEngineers TTE625, built specifically for the five-pot warbler used by the RS3, its makers claim a 650bhp ceiling and potential for 516lb ft of torque. The standard car isn’t exactly slow, but hey, who are we to find fault?
The outputs alone don’t explain the car’s amazing speed; 245-section Hoosier drag tyres and a bit of seats-out weight reduction help. Sit back, turn up the volume and enjoy sweet, sweet music from what could be the world’s fastest RS3.
