7 Ways Any Self-Respecting Car Guy Can Survive Christmas
Not everyone is into the whole Christmas thing, and that's fine. But if you're a car guy and you find December 25th a bit of a chore, what should you do to alleviate the boredom?
1. Give Your Car A Service
If the year's taken its toll on your oil changing plans, why not do it on Christmas day? When no-one's looking, make good your escape and give your ride the TLC it deserves.
2. Lock Yourself Away With A Racing Game
With Gran Turismo 6, Forza 5, F1 2013 and many more racing games out this year, you're spoilt for choice. Pick one, lock yourself away and immerse yourself in the digital racing goodness. Just remember to grab a bit of turkey first.
3. Go For A Hoon On The Empty Roads
With most people inside stuffing themselves with turkey and potatoes, the roads are usually empty on Christmas day. That makes it the perfect time for you to go on a country road hoon.
4. Go Online And Buy Car Parts
If you didn't quite get the car stuff you wanted for Christmas, don't worry, just scurry off to the Interwebz and get clicking. Only downside is you'll have to wait a little longer than usual for your purchases to arrive, what with all the public holidays in the way...
5. Watch The Top Gear Christmas Specials
Christmas TV is a boring affair, so why not record the Top Gear Christmas special and watch it endlessly come the 25th? It might annoy your relatives a bit, but it sure beats watching old films and the Queen's predictable Speech...
6. Commandeer A Young Relative's Car Toys
Whether it's car-themed Lego, slot cars or Hot Wheels, car toys are wasted on kids. Maybe they should be in the hands of a petrolhead who appreciates how cool they are...If stealing stuff from kids seems a bit morally dubious to you, just challenge one of your younger relatives to a duel and show them who's boss.
7. Teach Your Gran How To Play GTA
If locking yourself away to play video games seems a bit anti-social, then get your older relatives involved. If the lady in this video playing GTA V (warning, some NSFW language!) is anything to go by, they'll be hooked in no time.
