This 828bhp Mercedes-AMG GT Makes The R Look Weak

The IMSA RXR One is a tuned AMG GT that looks like it wants to punch a 911 GT3 RS in the face

German tuning company IMSA GmbH isn’t a concern we know much about, but if its latest car is anything to go by, the people working there must be completely crackers.

I mean, just look at it. It starts out life as an AMG GT S, before its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 is pumped up to 828bhp and 738lb ft of torque, courtesy of forged pistons, new turbochargers and much more besides.

The track has been widened considerably, with the arches bulged to cover the fat tyres. Speaking of which, they measure in at 315mm wide at the back, and incredibly, a monstrous 305 at the front. The only thing we can think of with wider front boots is the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Oh, and those tyres are Pirelli P Zero Trofeo Rs.

It’s so serious, there’s even a roll cage on the inside. But don’t worry about the enormous tyres, cage and aero addendum making this porkier than a regular GT S: the 1300kg figure IMSA gives for the car suggests that somehow 300kg has been trimmed from the car. A litany of carbonfibre body panels certainly helps, but still - if that figure is correct, that’s an incredible feat.

We’ve no idea how much it costs, but this is most definitely one of those ‘if you have to ask…’ moments. Buyers will also have so many different options to choose from, the amount paid will probably vary greatly.

Would you have this, or an AMG GT R?
