The AC Schnitzer 5-Series Touring Is 525bhp Of Modded Madness
Here's your first look at AC Schnitzer's new line of tuning parts for the BMW 5-Series. The German tuner has introduced a catalogue of aerodynamic and performance upgrades to boost whichever model sits in your garage.
Performance upgrades can be fitted across the board, with both petrol and diesel engines benefiting from AC Schnitzer's delicate touch. On the dark side, the 520d gets a 34hp bump, now producing 218hp, while the range-topping 535d jumps 47hp to 360hp. On the petrol side, you can get a mighty impressive 525hp from the top-of-the-range 550i, a 76hp gain.
The exterior benefits from an aerodynamic package that includes a front spoiler, side skirts and rear spoilers for both saloon and estate models. The vented bonnet allows the tuned engines a little extra room to breathe, as does the sports exhaust system, which gives a deeper sound.
It wouldn't be a tuned beast without massive alloys and lowered suspension. The modded 5-Series will hug the ground thanks to a lowering spring kit that drops your Beemer by 25mm. And wheels? There's a range of styles, but our pick is the brand new, lightweight, 20-inch forged set, weighing in at just 11kg.
The AC Schnitzer-tuned 5-Series will make its debut at the Essen motor show this weekend.
