'Accident-Prone Hosts' Mean The Grand Tour Tent Will Travel No More

With Hammond almost meeting his maker for a second time, and Clarkson’s recent pneumonia diagnosis which nearly killed him, you can bet that the guys will have reevaluated a few things. One thing will undoubtedly be how much time they spend not travelling which, before now, would have weighed in favour of the exact opposite; nine different countries and one spectacular tent will do that…

That’s why the show’s bosses have announced that the tent will be fixed in one location for the second series, namely in the Cotswolds.

According to Executive Producer, Andy Wilman, “We’ll keep the studio in one place, and given how accident prone they are at the minute, that can only be a good thing! (…) “Given their sore joints, struggling lungs and combined age of 158, the studio tent has been given a new home in a charming location in the Cotswolds.” Wilman also assures fans that the trio will be doing more adventure-based features, something that we’re all excited to hear.

If they could also ensure the death of the boring ‘celebrity brain crash’ and ‘The American’ segments, then I’ve no doubt we’ll all be watching keenly. Speaking of, who here actually watched the first series?

It’s great that they’re continuing the idea of “Racecar driver sets times around our track!” but man, ‘The American’ was just awful. Mike Skinner is a fine driver, and probably a fun person in general, but forcing all of the American stereotypes on him was simply not funny. Get in the car, drive, comment on how it drives, leave the “jokes” out of it.

Communist jokes were honestly already old after the first episode.

Welp, looks like Celebrity Brain Crash will probably get boring too, since by travelling far and wide, there’d be many different ways that deaths could occur, just one place won’t have many Celebrity Brain Crash facilities.

The Grand Tour wouldn’t be the same without Celebrity Brain Crash if I’m honest, I love shouting ‘JAAAAMEEESS!’ when May says ‘Does that mean he/she’s not coming on then?’…

2nd season and it already needs a kick up the backside. More road trips. Less faff.
