Brace Yourselves, A Four-Pot Jag F-Type Is Coming

A more wallet-friendly F-Type could be hitting the showrooms soon
3 The V8 and V6 F-Types are awesome. Will an inline four version be joining the ranks?

We love the F-Type here at CT, but with the base V6 model knocking on the door of £60K and the muscular V8 costing a scary £80K, it ain't cheap. There'll soon be a more inexpensive way into F-Type ownership though, as a cheaper four-cylinder version could well be headed our way.

Rumours of an F-Type with a turbocharged, four-banger petrol unit under the bonnet have been floating around for a few months now. But with a test mule F-Type recently spotted with a revised bonnet and a distinctly four-pot tune escaping the exhaust pipes, this is now looking incredibly likely. The question is, will The F-Type be as exciting with its cylinders lopped off?
