Can A Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Beat A Dodge Challenger Hellcat In A Straight Line?

There's no doubt that the ZL1 will be the faster car on track, but what about in a drag race - can its lower weight figure make up the power deficit to the Hellcat?

The result of this drag race from Hennessey aside, which one of these horsepower-heavy slices of ‘Murica would you rather have? The 697bhp Hellcat is a more traditional point and squirt muscle car, whereas the lighter, 640bhp ZL1 pays a lot more attention to the handling department. Accelerates pretty quickly, too…

Judging from the comments, I’d say the Hellcat won. As a Camaro fan, I ain’t even mad. The Camaro handles better, so it’s the better track contender.

The Hellcat was an automatic, the camaro was a manual. The winner is very clear…

The Hellcat makes much more than 690hp.. MotorTrend put it on a dyno and it made 687hp TO THE WHEELS

The Hellcat shifts much faster than the ZL1, that’s where the Camaro got beaten. That said, I love both of these cars. :D

ZL1 handles way better than any M4… well in fact ZL1 kills M4/M5/M6s however it wants . Hellcat is a handler too, but its big weight is not something you`d be happy about. However, it also handles very good, way better then you expected.
