For the 1963 Paris Motor Show Pininfarina was asked to redesign the C2 Corvette. What they came up with was the Pininfarina Rondine Coupe.
Unlike the original C2, the Rondine Coupe’s body was made completely made of steel instead of Fiberglass, which significantly increased the car’s weight and changed the way it handled. Chevrolet didn’t really care about the compromised handling, since it just a one-off car designed for a car show.

The front of the car featured an increased overhang which made the car considerably longer, a huge grill and it no longer had pop-up headlights. The rear of the car was completely redesigned and didn’t look anything like the original C2 Corvette anymore. The rear now looks very similar to the Fiat 124’s, because of the rear fenders which lead to a pinched rear. The back also featured custom bumpers and a Rondline badge on the trunk.

Not much was changed on the inside though, the dashboard and seats were left untouched, most of changes were in the detailing. they fitted chrome detailing everywhere, but apart from that the interior isn’t that spectacular.

Alright, that’s enough about the looks. Let’s talk numbers.
The Rondine is powered by a natural aspirated 5354cc V8 pushing out 360bhp and 488 Nm of torque at 3200 rpm. That engine is connected to a 4-speed manual gearbox.
The car slowed down using drum brakes on both the front and rear.

This is really a car you either love or hate, so tell me, do you like this car not? But anyways, thanks for reading and have a nice day :)

I love it. A bit of Alfa Montreal, Studebaker, can’t remember what has a grill like that, but I recognise it. I just wish it was fiberglass or at least aluminium, but the engine (displacement suggests 327) sounds like it’s been tickled a bit
