The Classic Racing Game Burnout Paradise Is Back And Remastered

Next month one of the legends of car racing video game history is returning. Burnout Paradise Remastered is primed for Xbox One and Playstation 4, with a Windows edition in the pipeline

Criterion Games has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming release of Burnout Paradise Remastered, which will give you guys a chance to play the iconic decade-old game on modern consoles.

Burnout Paradise was one of those classic car racing games that you just loved to play. Open-world gameplay in he fictional Paradise City, semi-realistic panel damage (this was 2008, after all) and the option of online play combined with silly-fast speeds and dubious cornering physics that gave it a big slice of arcade charm.

You could pull incredible stunts. You’d have a crash and see crumpled panels, dented doors and scratched bumpers, and this came in an age where some racing games were barely even acknowledging visible crash damage.

The video claims that the updated release is basically the game the way it was meant to be enjoyed. The graphics are still old-school, just less pixelated, and the very pretty panel damage of the original has been maintained. Check out the trailer above and prepare to relive a classic.

It launches on 16 March for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, priced at £34.99, and comes with the original base game as well as the eight add-on packs released during the ‘Year of Paradise’ campaign. A Windows version will eventually be available via EA’s Origin platform.

“Take me down to the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Take me home
(Oh, won’t you please take me home?)”

That moment when a game from 2008 is still better than any new need for speed game.

It has actually been on Xbox One for a while now as a backwards compatible game.
