The Crazy Quirks Of The 250 GT Lusso Define Ferrari's Golden Era
Doug DeMuro isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Some people would rather crawl naked through a mountain of cheese graters than watch one of his videos. He does gain impressive access to some beautiful cars, though, and we regularly bring you his content. Most recently it was all about a Spyker C8.
For this video our questionably-dressed American reviewer is in Dubai. His steed is a $3 million Ferrari 250 GT Lusso. When new – and this one still looks pretty immaculate – the 3.0-litre V12 under the long bonnet made around 240bhp. With just over a tonne to push along, it was pretty nippy.
As always, Doug picks out a few of his favourite quirks. A beautifully Italian touch is that the fuel filler cap is inside the boot, to avoid spoiling any of the Lusso’s perfect panels. Only the Italians would do such a thing, and even then only back in Ferrari’s golden age.
It gets even weirder up front, with a washer fluid bag. In the video it looks like a catheter bag stuck to the inside of the front wing. It was apparently common practice in Ferraris of the era, which makes absolutely no difference to the fact that it was, and still is, a rubbish idea.
Check out the rest of the video for more oddball features on one of the loveliest cars ever made.

I love Doug
His video on the Lambo Jamara was hilarious! “maybe this switch is telling thr car, thst you want some soup”
Same, except that some of his videos are well…bad and he doesn’t do enough research quite often
I didn’t know that car throttle supports Doug Demuro
He’s on CT as well
Thats nice
Doug is so cringey.
In some videos, yeah
While being cringy, he gets to drive some of the best cars ever. So that is a bonus.
Ah, Doug again…..
How can people hate doug?
He’s like the opposite of gaskings in that matter, where almost everyone hates gaskings, almost everyone likes doug
