The Disco Volante Spyder Is A Topless Beauty
Milan-based Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera has been producing beautiful coach-built bodies for 90 years. Founded in 1926, the company designed the stunning Maserati 3500, the pioneering Lamborghini 350GT, and the iconic Aston Martin DB5. So to celebrate its incredible 90th anniversary, Touring will be introducing a Spyder version of its Disco Volante Coupe at this week’s Geneva motor show.
The Disco Volante Coupe, based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, was first unveiled back in 2013. The stunning design won the coveted Design Award at the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, and the car received high praise from a certain Jeremy Clarkson. The original Coupé was restricted to eight units, so we’re excited to see it make a return; albeit without a roof.
Seven spyders will be produced, with each receiving their own unique colours. The car on display at Geneva will feature a beautiful ‘Blue Ceruleo’ hue. Performance figures and details on the powertrain have yet to be released, but we can expect the car to remain close to factory 8C specifications. To refresh your memory, the 8C featured a 4.7-litre, 450bhp V8, which powered the car to 62mph in an impressive 4.2 seconds.
The Spyder will be officially unveiled tomorrow, but a video of the car has already surfaced online. Take a look below for some close up footage.

Surely I can’t be the only one to absolutly hate the Disco Voilante? Its one of the most hidous cars ever made in my opinion, and i am not joking when i say i think the Fiat Multipla’s designers had more taste than the guys who designed this… Yeah, I know I’ll get hate for this, but i really REALLY hate it
EDIT And before someone says it, yes i know im not actually the only one, but its a figure of speach
Look wise, the coupe in red seems more pleasant! For feels, all that sky above you with this <3
