With the Toyota GR Supra being made primarily out of BMW bits, it should come as no surprise that AC Schnitzer has decided to give the A90 a bit of a fiddle.

Famed for its work on Munich’s products, AC Schnitzer now offers a range of upgrades to both style and performance for the Supra.

First up, let’s deal with the power. The 3.0-litre ‘B58’ inline-six turbo has been given some unspecified improvements (most likely ECU-related) to increase the output from 335bhp to 394bhp. Torque meanwhile has swelled by over 70lb ft to 443lb ft.

It’ll sound sweeter too, as AC Schnitzer has added new exhaust silencers. What the firm hasn’t done, unlike other aftermarket outfits, is ditch the gasoline particulate filters - the new pipes work with the GPFs the A90 has fitted from the factory. You can have either carbon or black anodised stainless steel tailpipes, depending on your preference.

The way the new Supra looks is arguably one of its best attributes, but in any case, AC Schnitzer has had a go at making some improvements. A carbonfibre rear wing is available, as is a front splitter and some carbonfibre bonnet vents.

It’s possible to drop the ride height by 25mm via a set of coilovers, or by 15mm by opting for springs that go with the standard adaptive dampers. Either way, a lower ride height will go nicely with the two 20-inch wheel options AC Schnitzer has available.

Finally, on the inside, there’s a range of new parts to choose from including aluminium gear-shift paddles, new pedals and a special cover for the iDrive rotary controller.

The question is, which famous BMW tuner will have a crack at fettling the GR Supra next? Hamann? Manhart perhaps? We can’t wait to see.

335 to 394? I thought the actual output was understated and actually ~380?

So basically an ECU flash and carbon inserts for fake hood vents and ¿exhaust silencers?! Why?

And Toyota themselves have already tuned it way above 400hp, up to 750 if I’m not mistaken, so what makes this worth the money? How much is this AC package anyway?

We don’t flash ECUs. We always use a secondary ECU so that the car’s software is not altered. This package is for road use and includes a 3 year warranty on the engine and drivetrain from AC Schnitzer.

I cringe when I hear the BMW J29/DB referred to the “A90”. Its as much a Toyota as a Chevy Metro was a Chevrolet (built by Suzuki) with a much different kind of cult following. I’ve always said this Beemer, although having a nice side profile is pretty fugly from the front & rear. Not only a butter face but a butter butt aswell. Now it is a pretty decent performing car with BMW build quality which is great out the box but severely lacking is ease of maintenance & upkeep after years of ownership down the road. Good luck to the poor saps that end up with this fake Toyota.
