The First Sinkhole Corvette Has Been Rescued And She's Alive
Remember those eight Corvettes that disappeared when a sinkhole swallowed them in the National Corvette Museum a few weeks ago? We have good news; the cars are now being lifted out of the hole by a crane that's been squeezed into the stricken 'Skydome' section of the museum. The first car to be rescued is this 'Blue Devil' 2009 ZR-1.
It not only looks relatively unscathed from plummeting into the 7.5-metre deep pit, but also still fires up without complaint. They're clearly tough brutes, these 'Vettes.
Once all the cars are out of the hole, the museum plans on having them restored - something that GM promised to do - and displayed alongside information about the incident.
