Gorge Yourself On This Stunning Carbon-Clothed McLaren Senna

Wearing bodywork that took almost 1250 hours to create and colours inspired by Ayrton Senna's racing helmet, this is an extra-special McLaren Senna

What do you get when you combine a wealthy hypercar-buyer’s taste for carbonfibre with the fastest road-legal car the great McLaren has ever made? The answer is this: the Senna ‘Carbon Theme’ bespoke project from McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

As we know, all Sennas are sold out, so this is a custom build at a customer’s request. Clothed in lacquered carbonfibre, the 67-part body part set took almost 1000 hours to produce. Accents are provided by Solar Yellow detailing lined all the way along the car’s functional aerodynamics, from nose to tail.

Reportedly the yellow detailing alone took nearly 250 hours. The brake calipers are Laurel Green, and together the two colours echo Ayrton Senna’s own racing helmet. Good choices, if you ask us.

You’ll find them inside, too: the doors’ gas struts are in Laurel Green, while the contrast stitching on the Carbon Black Alcantara seats, door trim and console are yellow. There’s a yellow racing tab on the steering wheel, too.

Ansar Ali, managing director of MSO, said:

“The McLaren Senna customers in the process of specifying their own, personalised cars are almost without exception commissioning an elevated level of MSO content, so we are definitely appealing to our target audience.

“With the car having generated so much interest since its unveiling in December, we knew we needed to produce something very special in order to showcase the unique talents of McLaren Special Operations.”

He continued:

“The McLaren Senna Carbon Theme by MSO at the Geneva Motor Show is exactly the kind of project we thrive on delivering and once customers have had the opportunity to view it in person, I would not be at all surprised to see a rise in expressions of interest for MSO Visual Carbon Fibre cars similar to this one.”

The £750,000 Senna (before options) is, as McLaren puts it, “legalised for road use, but not sanitised to suit it.” Huzzah for the slightly unhinged. You can see more of the Carbon Theme Senna at the Geneva Motor Show next week.

I don’t know what’s with car manufacturers and bare carbon fibre + yellow finishes… First Lamborghini with the Centenario, now we have the McLaren Senna.

Honestly, just based on your account name i can tell that you honestly know jack about cars. 99% of ricers wont be able to afford this and it seems like your hatin on this car to gain attention. It aint gonna work, so stop hatin on this car just cuz it looks a little off, it will probably kill the competition. Like god damn…just pisses me off when people like you go hatin on cars like these. Or youre trolling…in that case I just wrote all this for nothing.😀😀
