Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.46, Adds Skoda VGT, Sony Afeela, Chevy Chevelle
Well, we’d known about Gran Turismo 7’s 1.46 update a little early thanks to its own Polish arm leaking the information on Twitter, but now it’s out and we have full details on April’s content update.
Following its reveal on 24 April, the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo has swiftly been introduced to the game, marking the debut of the Czech car manufacturer in the series.
Inspired by the 1100 OHC racer of 1957, the Skoda VGT is a dramatic-looking, single-seat EV race car. We’ve covered the car in more depth, but the headline figures are 1071bhp and 752lb ft of torque from a quad-motor setup. Crikey. It’s available for purchase in Brand Central for 1,000,000 credits.
Joining the Skoda VGT is the SHM Afeela (Sony Honda Mobility) the first of Sony’s ventures into electric car production. It’s not a surprise to see it added to the game - Polyphony Digital had announced earlier this year it would arrive in GT7 and the game developer has had a helping hand in the real-life project.
Being a prototype, the game hasn’t offered up any performance figures for the car and there’s no customisation available beyond tyre choice and power restriction. However, it is free to claim at least.
Counteracting the EVs is some good old American muscle, with the Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and its 450bhp, 7.0-litre V8. Talk about diversity…
The Chevelle is now available in the game’s Legends Dealer for 163,000 credits.
Sadly, there’s no new track in 1.46 – making it six months since the last new location, Lake Louise, was added to the game. We do have three new World Circuits events, a new Extra Menu focusing on 12-cylinder Ferraris, and San Diego as a scapes photo location, however. There are also five new engine swaps, though we’ll avoid spoilers if you’d like to find them out for yourself.
