The modifications to this car include the addition of street-legal semi-slick tyres (Federal 595RS-R) plus uprated brake pads. With RSRNurburg instructor Gabriele Piana behind the wheel, the GT86 clocks an impressive time of 8min 27sec, despite the sports car’s humble power and torque. For context, this time makes the Toyota one second faster per lap than a Porsche 911 Carrera (993), a car which has a substantially higher top speed (143mph vs the Porsche’s 168mph), but less balance through corners than the featherweight newbie.
