The Hardcore Ferrari 488 Has Been Leaked (Again), And It's Called 'Pista'

Another week, another leak. Pictures have surfaced of what’s rumoured to be the hardcore Ferrari 488, which the Italians are hoping will give the Porsche 911 GT2 RS something to think about.
These images have appeared on social media and the web forum Ferrari Chat. They seem to correlate with Ferrari’s normal style of press release render, and the car’s new nose matches that of the test mule and that we saw in an earlier leak.

But it won’t be called the 488 GTO, as had long been rumoured. Its name is reportedly the 488 Pista, which, in Italian (and Spanish, as it happens), means Track. Pista follows the likes of Challenge Stradale, Scuderia and Speciale into the annals of modern track-focused Ferrari history. We’d have preferred GTO, but hey, it’s not like we’re likely to be buying one anyway.
Further leaks seem to confirm that the car will run a ‘700bhp plus’ development of the 488’s 3.9-litre turbocharged V8. The extra power, courtesy of technology nicked from the 488 Challenge race car, is joined by new bodywork that maximises its aerodynamic potential.

The engine itself is said to be 10 per cent lighter than standard, while the new wheels are rumoured to be an astonishing 40 per cent less weighty than the normal items.
Production numbers are almost certain to be limited to a set figure. Prices are probably irrelevant, because Ferrari will probably have pre-sold them all by now, but a figure of over £215,000 has been suggested by some corners of the media.

Ill take a GT2 RS
The real question is whether this will be able to beat a regular 720S. McLaren seems to have been on quite a roll recently. I want to see Ferrari go completely nuts with the V8. Enlarge it to 4.5 litres and boost it to 1000hp. F40/288 GTO reborn.
