This Has To Be One Of The Biggest Jump Starts In Motorsport History

Richard Mork started on pole position for the second V8 Utes race at Phillip Island last weekend but suffered a huge jump start. It was so big he had a lead of five seconds by the first lap!

Unsurprisingly, after gaining such an advantage, the stewards felt a five-second penalty wasn’t enough and he was handed a drive-through penalty.

Mork explained the jump start in a post on Facebook:

“Foot slipped off the clutch and had to keep going to get out of everyone’s way.”

Not even a 5 second head start is enough for a Holden to beat a Ford… ;)

Just like when you get stopped by the police after doing a burnout.

“I’m sorry, officer, my foot slipped off the clutch pedal there.”

That’s actually quite clever, because you’ll a 5 sec penalty for jump-start but he is already more than 5 secs in front, but he’ll probably get more than 5 secs
