Here's The Porsche 919 Tribute Casually Cruising The Streets Of New York
The ‘Tribute’ tour of Porsche’s now semi-retired 919 doesn’t only involve smashing circuit records. Just before its outing at Spa-Francorchamps - which saw the car snatch the outright record away from Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes F1 car - Porsche sent the car around the streets of New York City for a more gentle run.
The run looks to have been done using a car without the ‘evo’ modifications used to conquer Spa - it doesn’t have the reshaped front end, lower and wider side skirts nor the larger rear wing - but it still looks pretty badass rolling around the Big Apple.
As well as the video above, Porsche has released a big gallery of photos for us to enjoy. Here are the highlights:

The 919 Tribute’s next stop? That’d be the Nurburgring. Oh yes…

If anything is going to take that 6:11 lap record, this is the car to do it. I can’t wait
Well you cant blame Porsche I think they followed the wise words of Sherlock Holmes of “its so overt….its covert….”
Little do the people know, they’re next to one of the fastest cars ever built
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Claudio Roddaro has a road legal Porsche 917
Why couldn’t this happen while i was in NYC… it would of been a dream come true
Driver be like:
I love how the suspension is raised haha!

How’d it survive the potholes
I need to be down in Manhattan more often…
