Here’s The Terrifying Moment A Lorry Suffered Catastrophic Suspension Failure
Dashcam footage captures the moment a massive trailer suffered a suspension failure, sending it and its scrap metal cargo crashing onto the road
This scary crash happened last week on Tappan Zee Bridge, New York state. The accident closed the north-bound carriageway for four hours, and caused severe disruption to south-bound traffic. One of the drivers stuck in the aftermath of the carnage was taking his wife - who had gone into labour - to hospital. She had to be rescued from the traffic jam by state police.
The 61-year-old lorry driver was given a ticket for having a suspended license.

reminds me of when I was driving to one of the local theme parks. Passing in the other lane, a dump truck had a lose tailgate and was duping gravel.. The gravel was bouncing all over the road and smashed into my Cavalier.. the windshield was laying in my lap, But I was able to 180 the car and catch up to the dump truck. Once I caught up with the truck, I jumped out and pounded on his door, yelled “Look at what you did to my car!!” and pointing at the front of my car. At that point, finally seen all the damage to my car.. It looked like someone use the front end for shotgun practice. Holes everywhere.. Needless to say.. The car was totaled.. But I wasn’t the only one who had damage to their cars. A line of cars was forming behind me once everyone realized what had happen.
The other issue, is that these hauling companies are not inspected enough as well as over fill their trailers.. Risking their lives as well as ours.
Did anyone else laugh way too hard when they saw the entire rear axle just boucing around like it was excited to be let free?
I mean at least it’s not like a couple months ago here in Colorado, when someone crashed a truck load of bees on the highway.
So ironic that the radio was warning about overturned truck trailers.
