Here's What Happens When You Race An Abarth 124 Against A 595
This intra-marque battle from Top Gear pitches two very different Abarths against each other
What makes this particular one marque battle is that both cars are powered by essentially the same 1.4-litre turbocharged inline-four. However, that’s just about the only firm link between the two.
The 124 is based on the Mazda MX-5 (it’s mostly built in Hiroshima, before being finished in Turin), and as such is rear-wheel drive. The 595 Competition on the other hand is front-wheel drive, and has an extra 10bhp to hand, meaning its 6.7 second 0-62mph time is a tenth quicker than the 124’s.

You can see how badly the 500 bogged down at the start…to me, it looks like they didn’t turn the traction control off properly, so the car cut power
It isn’t fair his hair are more aerodynamic
The 500 cant pull its weight on lower rpms, its somehow the way the engine was designed…
floor, floor, floor, floor, sourge of power.
If you give this s%^@#$ driver a Honda S2000 he will race it from 1000 to 5.500 rpm and then shift. He has no clue how to properly launch or even rev a car.
Plus rear wheel traction? Dude your opponent almost turned his car off on launch. You might as well drive against a 90year old lady.. on foot.
