Here's What Happens When You Race An NSX Against A Model X P100D

An Acura NSX and a Tesla Model X P100D face off in this drag race - which do you think will nab victory?

Despite its weight, the top-of-the-range Tesla Model is brutally effective in a straight line thanks to a huge power output and the instant torque delivery associated with electric motors. But can it knock a supercar off its perch in a quarter-mile drag race? Specifically, an Acura NSX?

The answer is…yes and no. The Model X in this race from DragTimes takes the victory by 0.25sec, but the reaction time from the NSX driver wasn’t great. With a more even start, we reckon the Acura/Honda - standard apart from a ScienceOfSpeed exhaust and some fancier wheels - would have just pipped the Tesla to the finish line.

Either way, it’s an impressive performance for an SUV-cum-minivan, don’t you think?

Should I be happy for Tesla’s progression or should I get hurt for NSX’s rip off?

Comparing a straight line car to a cornering car isn’t really fair though.

Anyone else notice the Model X set off just before the NSX? I’d love to see then go at the EXACT same time.

The NSX lost by 0.25 sec. Hard to tell but I would say the Tesla launched close to 0.25 seconds before the NSX so this race would probably be very close.

Alright so Tesla carl ind up was this
Tesla roadster (idk specs)
Model S 0-60 neck breaking fast 2.9 about
Model X gull-wing doors that work well around same as S
Then model 3 with 5 sec 0-60 and yes some might say it is a sports car, and yes it is that too but it is also now the slowest in the lineup and incredibly slow compared to the previous two.

It’s supposed to be the affordable variant, the more power you ask from it the more the battery trains and thus you need a more expensive battery to keep the range okay… Also you could potentially need a stronger electric motor

The Tesla started half a second before the NSX! Come on guys, at least do it again. This is not video-worthy.

But we all know how this would have ended on a road with, say, some corners…

Honda NSX

The NSX seemed to get a little sluggish launch but slowly started reeling the X in just a little at the end. Quite impressed
