Is A Honda Civic Type R Faster Than A BMW M3 And Audi RS3 On Track?

After setting a scorching time in Honda's new hot hatch, Auto Express' Steve Sutcliffe returned to the same small circuit in Wales to see if it could be beaten by two pricier and much more powerful cars

After a bit of a backlash from YouTube commenters, particularly paying attention to the M3’s apparently rather slidey lap, Auto Express responded to confirm that the exterior shots weren’t filmed during the timed runs. And anyway, the result isn’t so unbelievable. The RS3 is after all rather heavy and not the nimblest, while the 7 minute 50 second time a pre-production Civic Type R ran at the Nurburgring recently is comparable to times reportedly set by the F80 M3. Are hot lap times like this really relevant to how good a car is, though? We’ll leave that to you to decide in the comments.
