Not as easy as it sounds, Checked by a mechanic ( all except putting it on jacks to see the underbody as we were viewing it at a parking lot ),when I was buying my first car ( Seat Ibiza 1.2 12V ‘06 ) and friend mechanic drove it, everything seemed fine. Went home, fired it up 2 days after wanting to go for a first drive after getting insured, boom. 1km after the car was misfiring on the cylinder 1 ( 2nd gear + full throttle = 20km/h speed and wouldnt accelerate ), had to spend hundreds of euro on repairs because basically the cylinder head was fed. Could that be predicted when inspecting a car? No. Next time I will know that when buying a car, ALWAYS START THE TEST DRIVE WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD. Oh, and if I wasn’t unlucky enough it failed the NCT ( MOT ) because of very high emissions ( Cat is fed ) which we also didn’t notice when buying..
Number 1 should be don’t buy american
Helpful while being funny, I enjoy it!
Bring a screwdriver to not get screwed ;)
They forgot to tell you to bring a scan tool.
I think i need some time off from the word ‘broken’
Great video though!
so what you’re saying is you’re… broken?
Why do I always come across this sort of thing too late.
last used car i bought couldn’t be driven due to a sheared control arm, but i apparently hit the used car lottery, and 3 years later, it’s been trouble-free
My take on buying used cars: never buy one that you can’t afford buyng 2nd one like that the next day.
That way i’m looking for the best prices with “security” of even rebuilding the engine (or getting a new one) if needed…
Don’t get screwed. Buy the cheapest one.
