How to report a post.

There seems to be some stir about unoriginal content on Car Throttle lately, and because of this it came to my attention that not everyone knows about the report function.

How to report a post.

If you find reposts, inappropriate content, nude content or anything that offends/upsets you, press the flag button to let us know about it, you can also email support@carthrottle.com if that is necessary.

The flag button is on the bottom-right of every post.

Now that you know how to flag posts, use it every time you see a repost, instead of making a post about it complaining. (Dont do that)

Yeah the complaint posts drive me crazy! Reposts I can forgive but don;t make a post about how much CT has changed, how you’re thinking of leaving or to moan about reposting. No one cares. Besides, we get several of those a day so in a way it kind of is a repost when you do that.

Yes stop the reposts and we will stop people from pointing out everyone of them. Killing two birds with one stone! I like it!

you probably saw my solution to this. an here are a couple of reasons why i think that it is better.
1.there a lots of people that re post unintentionally, if they simply told that it is a re post in a non aggressive manor, then they can decide weather they should keep it up, or too take it down, depending on there personal morals
2.i am not sure about this one, but i believe that it is too much work for the moderators/staff to see if every reported post is a re-post and delete it. my reasoning for this is that if the moderators could manage re posts on top of their pre existing responsibilities, then CT would be free of re posts right now.
3.if post’s are forcibly removed without a explanation or a giving the OP to explain themselves, it could aggravate them or make them feel not included. this, in my opinion is the exact opposite of what the CT community needs
4.this could probably be changed, but if i remember carefully, multiple reported post can result in the banning of a user, and i think that compared to other offences (spam, nudity, hate) reposts are minor and should not be treated with the same consequences as the offenses above.
5.this is in my opinion (and probably only mine) is the most important reason. I wont have a JOB! that being said, if the staff/moderators decide that this is the way they want to handle re post’s. I am in no position to go against that and will resign.please consider this, before you want everyone to start flagging re-posts.

We are starting to roll out a message in the notification you get when a post is deleted. It’s not supported in the apps right now but is working on the website.

agree. i dont spend all my day on CT so i hardly get to see all the posts. Conversely i might post something that i missed. Happened once and got showered with hate comments saying i am doing it for points. Who even cares about points. if i find something funny or amusing i post it here.

Totally agree with you during my time as a HoC/Mod the only thing I touched in reposts was putting out flame wars in the comments, I don’t have the time to cross reference every post. It was easier to just inform them it was a repost and let the OP decide to keep it up or take it down. Really guys the easiest solution to reposts is just to keep scrolling or nicely tell the OP.
