This Isle Of Man TT Documentary Is A Stunning Fix For Petrolheads
The Isle of Man TT is one of the automotive world’s most famous race events, notorious not just for the peerless action and bravery at every corner but also for the sadly regular deaths that occur on the high-speed street circuit.
Over a 37.73-mile mountain course on this semi-autonomous island in the Irish Sea, some of the most skilled bikers in the world ride a street course far more dangerous than the Nurburgring, and almost three times as long. And this happens at speeds averaging 135mph and topping out at 200mph. These are not motorways or autobahns, remember; they’re single-carriageway roads lined by hedges, walls, houses, fields, trees and people.
The TT is as addictive to ride as it is to watch, as most of its riders throughout history would tell you. A new documentary made by the wizards at Studio Kippenberger gives a stunning insight into this uniquely compulsive experience; into what keeps the heroic riders coming back for more.
This breathtakingly-filmed 18-minute feature simply named ‘Isle of Man TT’ sees some of the world’s finest filmmakers interview legendary TT riders about a race that has no equal. It includes epic footage from the nose of competing bikes that makes Lamborghini’s new Nurburgring lap record look a bit tame.
Sit back and enjoy this mini-masterpiece of speed, pride and camera skills.
