It Looks Like Toyota Is Resurrecting The MR2 As Well As The Supra
From an enthusiast’s perspective, Toyota’s future is looking jolly exciting. We’ve already been enjoying the GT86 for the last few years, a hot Yaris is on the way, the Supra is being resurrected, and now, we’ve learned that the MR2 is set for its own automotive Lazarus moment.
Speaking to Evo at the Geneva Motor Show, Tetsuya Tada - Gazoo Racing’s boss - said that Toyota’s sports car line-up will consist of “The Three Brothers”. By that, he means the GT86, the Supra, and - the motoring world is assuming - a new MR2. We may not have to wait that long either, with Tada-san insisting Toyota wants the new trio in production “as soon as possible”.
Beyond that, everything else is speculation. A lightweight, fast, mid-engined sports car would slot between the GT86 and Supra quite nicely, but Toyota may go a different route - we’ll have to wait and see.
The third and final generation ‘W30’ MR2 was a mid-engined roadster, which went out of production in 2007, one year after the seventh and final generation Celica was killed off.

Can only hope they bring back the Celica next!
Why Toyota only to resurrect the JDM princes and Lords. Is this some kind of strategy? We need moar high performance jdm. and also underrated ones with huge tuning capabilities, like gt86
I also forgot, please Subie, Give us a two door impreza. BRZ is already in the market but not even an awd nor impreza.
LETS MAKE TOYOTA GREAT AGAIN
Yes please.
As i get old i think Toyota will make great sports cars during these next years.. maybe one of them will be a good replacement for my 16’ FiST :)

Thanks.
I saw another corolla commercial on youtube about the smart headlights or something. They drove by some MR2’s and the driver said “hi friends”. Cant seem to find it though.
There is no new supra, there is an ft1 tho
This should be welcome news to Qian Li
